McCain Says Obama is Living in the Past on Iraq - Video 2/28/08
Here is John McCain hitting Barack Obama hard as the candidate who represents the past when it comes to Iraq. McCain cites Obama's constant living in the past by criticizing the invasion of Iraq rather than focusing on what is best for America now and in the future. McCain made the remarks at a Town Hall Meeting on the campus of Rice University, Feb. 28, 2008.

McCain Holds Town Hall Meeting at Rice University - 2/28/08
John McCain held a Town Hall Meeting today on the campus of Rice University in Houston, Texas. Here is a summary from the Associated Press of the event:
"Of course, that comment of mine was distorted. Life isn't fair, as Jack Kennedy said," McCain told a town hall meeting at Rice University. "I was talking about American presence after the war."
Responding to a student who had criticized his 100-year remark, McCain added, "No American argues against our military presence in Korea or Japan or Germany or Kuwait or other places, or Turkey, because America is not receiving casualties."
"I think, generally speaking, we have a more secure world thanks to American presence, particularly in Asia, by the way, as we see the rising influence of China," McCain said. "But the key to it is American casualties, America's most precious asset, and that is American blood." read more »

John McCain Town Hall Meeting in San Antonio, Texas - Video 2/27/08
John McCain held a Town Hall Meeting today in San Antonio, Texas, with employees at USAA. Here is the video of the meeting, courtesy of WOAI-TV, followed by the writeup on the visit:
U.S. Senator John McCain held a town hall meeting with employees at USAA Wednesday afternoon.Senator McCain received a warm welcome from USAA employees, who were packed nearly to the ceiling to see the man likely to be the Republican choice for president.
McCain talked for about an hour, hitting on all of the major issues, including the economy, immigration and Iraq. The senator wasted little time outlining differences between him and his democratic opponents. He told the crowd his plans to reduce health care costs, improve veterans benefits and his views on the Iraq war.
Senator McCain then took questions ranging from gun control to immigration, saying the U.S. needs to secure it's borders with both physical and technological barriers.
The question he didn't answer was about his choice for vice president.

Letter To John McCain!
Hello All,
I have finnally made the jump over here from (BFFT). The below is a letter I wrote to John McCain. I have sent copies via E-mail to his Senate web site and his campaign web site. I have also copies via regular mail to the addresses from both sites. I figured This would make the best post to start off with here. Nice to see so many of the old (BFFT) people. Please read the letter and let me know what you think. Thanks Shane
Dear Senator John McCain,
First is off sir let me say thank you very much for your service to country. As a former Navy sailor, I am well aware of the great sacrifice that is made to serve but yours Sir sets you apart. I would like to start off by telling you about myself. It will give you a better understanding about where I’m coming from when I reach the main body of this letter. I am an evangelical Christian who likes to study history both military and American, I like the study of biblical history & text translations for deeper understanding of original biblical meanings, and the study of the Christian heritage of what I like to call God’s Constitution. As you can most likely guess, as far as politics go I consider myself a Strong Federalist Conservative. read more »

Obama Nailed by McCain For His Iraq Comments - Video
OK. Here's the video of Obama's comments last night in the Democratic Debate that he would reserve the right to do something about Al-Qaeda if they are "forming a base in Iraq" once he succeeds in pulling American Forces out of Iraq as President:
Now, here is John McCain beating him over the head with those comments today:
As Lane pointed out in an earlier post, Obama had his standard lame line in response to McCain:
"I said, well I would always reserve the right to go in and strike against al Qaeda if they were in Iraq," Obama said. "So, you know, this is how politics works. McCain thought that he could make a clever point by saying, 'Well, let me give you some news Barack, al Qaeda IS in Iraq,' like I wasn't reading the papers. Like I didn't know what was going on."Obama went on to lay the blame for terrorist activity in Iraq on McCain's shoulders. "But I have some news for John McCain," Obama said, "and that was that there's no such thing as al Qaeda in Iraq until George Bush and John McCain decided to invade Iraq!"
NOW FOR THE BEST - McCain responded to Obama's response this afternoon:
Update: McCain adds in a just released statement:
Where is the audacity of hope when it comes to backing the success of our troops all the way to victory in Iraq? What we heard last night was the timidity of despair. Our allies deserve better, our soldiers deserve better, and so do the American people."
Game - Set - Match, John McCain! Priceless!

McCain Responds to Obama on Iraq
As reported in an earlier post here on BFJM.com, Barack Obama under hand pitched a potential soft ball on Iraq for John McCain to knock out of the ballpark during last night's debate.
Today Senator McCain took a swing and connected.
Republican presidential hopeful John McCain mocked Democrat Barack Obama on Wednesday for saying he would take action as president "if al-Qaida is forming a base in Iraq."
"When you examine that statement, it's pretty remarkable," McCain told a crowd in Tyler, Texas.
"I have some news. Al-Qaida is in Iraq. It's called `al-Qaida in Iraq,'" McCain said, drawing laughter at Obama's expense.
Naturally, Obama responded with the same tired rhetoric about the terrorists being there because we invaded Iraq.
Here's some more of what Senator McCain had to say read more »

Obama's Plans For Weakening America's National Defense - Video
Here is a truly shocking video (unless you are a left-wing Democrat) of Barack Obama's plans for America's defense. Obama is, essentially, a throwback to the George McGovern model of near-pacifist philosophy and a weaker national defense. McCain needs to hammer him with this all day, every day:
