Here is analysis of how the candidates did at the Rick Warren "Civil Forum on the Presidency" by CNN's panel of "talking heads."

Here is a report by CNN's Dana Bash on John McCain going after Barack Obama for his opposition to the Surge Strategy in Iraq, and for his decision to cancel a trip to visit U.S. Troops stationed in Germany.

Here is video of Sen. John McCain discussing the war with CNN's Wolf Blitzer yesterday, July 25, 2008.

NOTE: Much ado is being made of Sen. McCain saying that Obama's 16 month timetable "is a pretty good timetable," but if you listen to the whole context it is clear McCain adds that it must be based on "conditions on the ground." That is what he has always maintained. The press is trying to spin this as McCain "agreeing" with Obama, when the context shows McCain is right where he has always been -- opposing predetermined timetables and advocating basing any decisions on conditions on the ground.

Apparently John McCain hit the mark when he said that Barack Obama had devised his strategy for Iraq even before he left on his great adventure to the Middle East.

In Obama's first "Real Press Conference" during his trip, he was asked several questions by reporters. That is in contrast to the "Fake" press releases which preceded it.

Near the end of this clip, Obama clearly says that he would listen to General Patraeus' advice and then try to decide for himself if he would take it.

Second guessing a Commander in the field who is trying to fight a war simply to decide if you want to spend the money somewhere else is preposterous! It shows you why Obama voted against funding for the troops. He thought he could spend the money better somewhere else.

Here is the clip of today's press conference in Jordan:

Apparently there was a followup question to Obama's answer where he mentions Patraeus.(We don't know the question because it was off Mic. But here is a transcript of Obama's answer to the followup question:

-----------------------------------------------------------
QUESTION: (OFF-MIKE)

OBAMA: Well, no. I mean, look, you know, I think, again, the notion is is that either I do exactly what my military commanders tell me to do or I'm ignoring their advice.

No, I'm factoring in their advice but placing it in this broader strategic framework that -- that's required.

OK? Thank you very much, everybody."
-----------------------------------------------------------

It's almost like he could not believe that he received a followup question and of course he did not have a coherent answer.

There is just too much red meat in this report by CNN to cover. Even the Anchor is surprised by Reza Sayah's report from Kabul Afghanistan. It's not often you here a news anchor use the word WOW! This WOW comes with a question mark a the end. WOW?....

The WOW was prompted by Sayah's comment that the Afghan people don't believe that anyone can stop the conflict which has plagued the country for more than 40 years. "...They are Hopeless..." he says! He cited Afghans on the street as anecdotal evidence of his conclusions.(at the 2:20 mark)

Does he not know that the Taliban and Al Queda are no longer running the country and that children are back in school? Does he not know that women have been given the right to vote and to work? Who the hell was he talking to?

Then Sayah goes on to say, "..."heres another President"(referring to Obama). Then he quickly changes it to "... in fact both presidential candidates.." (3:30 mark)

President Obama visits Hopeless Afghanistan?

It seems that the MSM have abandoned objectivity in favor of emotive language but it's just sad when personal bias is injected in to a news report. An opinion piece is a whole different game.

Update: I almost left out the part where both the Anchor and the reporter marvel at the bravery of Obama's visit and how the McCain camp pans Obama's visit as a photo op. (1:15 mark)Obama is acutally spending the night in Afghanistan! WOW! Anchor Fredricka Whitfield says, "..Isn't this at great risk to do this overnight in and area/region that has seen a spike in violence...?" Sayah says, "No question about it..."

I'm guessing that Obama's security detail hadn't thought about that. Remember when McCain visted the market in Bagdad, the left wing media made a big deal out of the fact that he had a huge security contingent.

Here is the video of the report:

During a campaign rally in Michigan today, John McCain voiced his concern that terrorists would increase their attacks in Iraq during the Iraqi elections.

Some have said McCain was talking about the US elections but when you hear the entire segment it is clear that he is referring to Iraq. This point is made when he mentions PM Maliki.

MCain also says, "We have Succeeded." Some have tried to say that he is claiming victory, but in the clip it is clear that McCain is saying that the "surge" has succeeded. He says that we will come home in honor and victory.

Here is a video of Mitt Romney dicussing leadership in the run for the Whitehouse in 2008.

Here is John McCain adviser Carley Fiorina being interviewed by CNN's Wolf Blitzer, who seemed fixated on pressing one of Barack Obama's favorite attack lines against John McCain. Every time he brought it up, she did a great job of slapping it down!

"I think physiologically he is considerably younger than his chronologic age based on his cardiovascular fitness," Eckstein said in an interview Thursday. "I got a call from the cardiologist who said that he had not seen anyone that age exercise for that long in a long time."

FOUNTAIN HILLS, Arizona (AP) -- Three-time melanoma survivor John McCain appears cancer-free, has a strong heart and is in generally good health, according to eight years of medical records reviewed by The Associated Press.

Sen. John McCain, who turns 72 in August, would be the oldest elected president.

The Republican presidential nominee-in-waiting remains at risk for developing new skin cancers, and gets a thorough check by a Mayo Clinic dermatologist every few months.

"I do not see any worrisome lesions," Dr. Suzanne Connolly concluded after McCain's most recent exam, on May 12.

The details of McCain's health are contained in 1,173 pages of medical documents spanning 2000 to 2008. His campaign made the documents available to the AP to make the case that he's healthy enough to serve as president, as well as to counter the notion that he's too old. The Arizona senator will turn 72 in August and would be the oldest elected president.

Like many aging Americans, McCain takes medicine to keep his cholesterol in check.

But Mayo internist Dr. John Eckstein, his longtime personal physician, lauded McCain's performance on a heart stress test -- sweating it out for 10 minutes when Eckstein routinely sees patients decades younger quit at five or seven minutes.  read more »

Ed Morrissey again digs out the facts regarding Obama's claim that McCain has flipflopped on his opinion of negotiating with Hamas. Included in Morrissey's story is the CNN video above.

Here is one from Fox News showing how Obama is perpetuating the lie:
