House GOP rejects latest bailout
By POLITICO STAFF

House Minority Leader John Boehner (R-Ohio) called a news conference Saturday afternoon to announce: "We will not agree to a bill that bails out Wall Street at the expense of American taxpayers."

House Republican leaders on Saturday rejected the latest bailout proposal by Democratic congressional leaders, saying it is too costly to taxpayers and loaded with "pork" for business, unions and liberal groups.

"We want a deal. We just want a good deal," a House Republican leadership aide said.

House Minority Leader John A. Boehner (R-Ohio) called a news conference Saturday afternoon to announce: "We will not agree to a bill that bails out Wall Street at the expense of American taxpayers. We need to act quickly and protect American taxpayers first and foremost. This is not about faceless executives on Wall Street, but about families, seniors, small businesses, and taxpayers.

"Republicans are committed to continuing discussions to solve this crisis in a timely manner. We expect our proposals to be given the consideration they deserve. Our focus is on crafting a bill that serves the interests of American taxpayers — not Wall Street and special interests."

The Republicans were standing up not just to Democratic leaders but also to the White House.

The extended impasse will make it more difficult for the Bush administration to achieve its goal of getting an agreement in place before markets open Monday morning in Asia, which is around 5 p.m. Eastern on Sunday.

House Minority Whip Roy Blunt (R-Mo.) said on Fox News Channel on Saturday morning: “Frankly, I think if it doesn’t happen on Sunday, it won’t happen until Thursday or Friday. … At the end of the day, it’d be better to get it done right than get it done quickly.”  read more »

Demercrats Getting Ahead Of Themselves
By Malcolm Hedges (08/31/08)

Having convinced themselves that Commissar President Obama will be crowned in January and they will have a stranglehold on the House and Senate, the Demercrat 'totalitarian police state' agenda is already starting to pop up around the country.

Various attempts have been made to intimidate and silence dissemination of factual information about Obama and the Demercrats.

Threats have been made to seriously censor all Radio and Internet to insure nothing but the Socialist message is available. Since TV is already pretty much self-regulated to avoid anything contrary to the Socialist agenda they presently have made no threats there.

Comrade Pelosi and Comrade Reid are carefully delaying everything they can until January, hoping to use their stranglehold to push thru all the Socialist schemes hanging around in limbo.

Should the Demercrat dream come to pass, they can do serious damage to the Republic in the two years before the next elections.

The seeds for this effort have already been embedded into various laws and regulations that have passed and been signed into law. Once the Federal government is under Demercrat Socialist control, the tie in laws can be rammed thru and effectively create a Police State.

If they can effectively squash freedom of information and thought, it's very possible they could survive the 2010 election cycle. That could pretty well put the final stake in a free American and we would be living under a Socialist regime headed by Commissar President Obama until 2013 and perhaps Commissar President Hillary taking the helm.

Of course neither would have much to reign over, by then the economy will have self-destructed. IslamoFascism, crime, anarchy and racial infighting would be rampant. Adequate energy would only be available to Party elites, the balance rationed out to try to maintain at least a semblance of a 3rd world status.

Most of whatever GNP remained would be consumed by the Government and food would be rationed with the party elites getting first pick, the scraps being doled out to the street people.

Any one of three things could save us:

1) Obama not getting elected.

2) Demercrats loosing control of the Senate.

3) A massive revolution by the people taking the Demercrats out of power.

#1 and/or #2 are preferable. #3 is obviously a last resort

Have you ever looked at one of the maps of county-by-county Primary Vote Results? They tell the story very clearly.

1) Huckabee dominated the rural areas.

2) McCain dominated the urban areas.

3) Romney competed with McCain for the urban areas and couldn't even touch the rural areas.

Between the 3 of them, the 2 who would complement each other the best is McCain and Huckabee. e.g. Missouri

http://www.cnn.com/ELECTION/2008/primaries/results/state/#MO

As an added bonus, Clinton voters will be easier to "pick off" this election, so McCain would be wise pick someone who is strong in her geographical areas. If you look, you will see that Obama and Clinton shared the same dynamic. Clinton dominated the rural areas and Obama took the urban areas.

It should be very obvious. If McCain picks Huckabee, HE WILL DEFINITELY WIN.

The RNC has published a Chronology of Obama Gaffes which is comprehensive to say the least. Very funny stuff. It seems that everyone has an "inartful" moment or two or three or four etc.

RNC LAUNCHES NEW WEB SITE & VIDEO

WASHINGTON – The Republican National Committee (RNC) today launched a new Web site encouraging voters to ask Barack Obama questions about the important issues facing America.

CanWeAsk.com provides Americans with an opportunity to submit text or video questions for Barack Obama regarding the issues he has failed to address or refused to answer, including:

* Why, as an Illinois state Senator, did he vote “present” over 130 times instead of “yes” or “no” on difficult issues like abortion, crime, and guns?
* On fiscal responsibility, how he intends to pay for over $660 billion in his new spending proposals and whether he can do it without raising taxes on families and small businesses?
* Why he voted against funding for our troops after promising not to use them as pawns in a war funding debate?
* Why did he tell donors in San Francisco that the economy has driven small town voters to “cling” to guns and religion?

In Case You Missed It

Heritage Foundation Senior Policy Analyst Rea Hederman On Sen. John McCain's (R-AZ) Economic Policies

Hederman: "I think John McCain has probably the most clear vision of kind of what went wrong. We know that the housing market was engaged in a bubble. So John McCain doesn't want to enact any policies that tries to prop up the bubble, that puts taxpayers on the hook for either risky lenders or risky borrowers." (CNBC's "The Call," 3/27/08)

Hederman: "John McCain is also saying, look, if you're going to come to the Federal Reserve, use the new discount window, then yes you should be regulated. I think there is bipartisan agreement that there was some regulation breakdown. But let's look at the specific problems. People that weren't regulated correctly. We can fix the system that we have now instead of sitting there and trying to bring everybody into a new regulation system that will only increase costs down the road."
