nuclear energy

Here is a local news report on Sen. John McCain's visit to the Enrico Fermi Nuclear Facility near Detroit, Michigan yesterday, August 5, 2008. McCain also talked about the importance of building additional Nuclear Power Plants, which is opposed by Barack Obama.

Here is today's McCain campaign conference call.

McCain Campaign Conference Call Hosted By Sen. Jon Kyl, James Woolsey and Doug Holtz-Eakin, June 25,2008

During a rountable event hosted by John McCain, Michael Feeney(a panelist) confronted McCain on nuclear energy and said that he feared 7,000 lb SUV's running over him in the parking lot.(At the 5 minute mark) He also admits that he is not an expert on energy. I think he makes that very clear when he continues to refer to ANWR as the "Alaska National Wildlife Refuge"(at the 2:40 mark of video) vs. the actual ANWR which is the "Artic National Wildlife Refuge".

Feeney seemed very nervous. I'm glad Feeney was able to make his point even if he seemed to ramble at some points and I think McCain seemed to wrap it up nicely without denigrating the guy.
