Obama Acceptance Speech
The Hill reports that numerous members of the media were seen openly cheering for Barack Obama last night during his acceptance speech in Denver. No surprise - we already knew the vast majority of Mainstream Media were in the tank for him. This just serves as confirmation:
Several members of the media were seen cheering and clapping for Barack Obama as the Illinois senator accepted the Democratic nomination Thursday.
Standing on the periphery of the football field serving as the Democratic convention floor, dozens of men and women wearing green media floor passes chanted along with the crowd.
Two members of the foreign press exchanged opportunities to take each other's pictue while wearing an Obama hat and waving a flag.
Several others nearby screamed "woo" during some of Obama's biggest applause lines.

John McCain's Campaign responded last night to Barack Obama's pep rally acceptance speech in Denver:
"Tonight, Americans witnessed a misleading speech that was so fundamentally at odds with the meager record of Barack Obama," campaign spokesman Tucker Bounds said in a statement.
When the temple comes down, the fireworks end, and the words are over, the facts remain: Sen. Obama still has no record of bipartisanship, still opposes offshore drilling, still voted to raise taxes on those making just $42,000 per year, and still voted against funds for American troops in harm's way. The fact remains: Barack Obama is still not ready to be President."

A new John McCain ad will air tonight in key battleground states, about the time Barack Obama is set to give his acceptance speech at Invesco Field in Denver. The ad will reportedly feature McCain speaking directly to Barack Obama, looking into the camera!
Tonight, John McCain will talk directly to his opponent in a television ad his campaign is airing in battleground states, around the time Barack Obama accepts the presidential nomination, McCain's campaign said.
Aides would give few details beyond the fact that McCain will speak directly to the camera, addressing Obama.
The strip-tease on the ad is one of several moves by the McCain campaign that could distract attention from Obama's big night.
The campaign was fueling speculation about his running mate, who is to be named at a McCain rally in Ohio tomorrow. A top campaign official says McCain has settled on his vice presidential choice and will notify the person today.
Matt Drudge of The Drudge Report, who has high-level McCain contacts, posted a tease this morning saying: "SOURCE: NAME MAY LEAK AT 6 PM ET... WITH SOME SORT OF CONFIRMATION AT 8 PM."
Obama is scheduled to speak between 10 p.m. and 11 p.m. Eastern before a crowd of about 75,000 at a Denver stadium where the final session of the Democratic National Convention is being staged.
The leak of the McCain ticket mate would cause a news frenzy at at time when the Obama campaign wanted viewers to be focused on Obama's economic and change messages.
McCain campaign communications director Jill Hazelbaker said in an MSNBC appearance that the battleground spot is "an historic ad — I think this is the first of its kind."
"Sen. McCain is going to have an ad that's going to air in battleground states around the time that Sen. Obama is speaking tonight," Hazelbaker said. "He's going to be talking directly to his opponent. So, I'm going to leave it there. But it's going be very exciting. I think that a lot of people are going to focus on it."

When you thought the Obama Campaign could not get any more messianic in nature -- they exceed expectations! We posted last night that Obama is going to accept the nomination Thursday night at Invesco Field on a stage constructed to look like Greek Temple. Now we have a picture of it under construction via The Weekly Standard:

The Political Inquirer has created a graphic that captures the scene we may see Thursday night!

I can't wait to see the McCain ad based on this "too good to be true" scene!
Hat Tip: Powerline

CNN is reporting that former President Bill Clinton, who will speak tonight at the Democratic National Convention, will not attend Barack Obama's acceptance speech on Thursday night at Invesco Field in Denver:
Hillary Clinton will be on hand for Barack Obama's acceptance speech, but according to a source close to former President Bill Clinton, he will not: the source tells CNN that Clinton will not join his wife at Invesco Field Thursday night.

I can't believe they are stupid enough to do this -- but then again the Obamessiah's ego may demand it. Imagine the ads McCain can run from this if it turns out to be true:
Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama's big speech on Thursday night will be delivered from an elaborate columned stage resembling a miniature Greek temple.
The stage, similar to structures used for rock concerts, has been set up at the 50-yard-line, the midpoint of Invesco Field, the stadium where the Denver Broncos' National Football League team plays.
Some 80,000 supporters will see Obama appear from between plywood columns painted off-white, reminiscent of Washington's Capitol building or even the White House, to accept the party's nomination for president.
He will stride out to a raised platform to a podium that can be raised from beneath the floor.
The show should provide a striking image for the millions of Americans watching on television as Obama delivers a speech accepting the Democratic presidential nomination.
Politicians in past elections have typically spoken from the convention site itself, but the Obama campaign liked the idea of having their man speak to a larger, stadium-sized crowd not far from where the Democratic National Convention is being held, at the Denver pro basketball arena.
Obama was taking a page from the campaign book of John Kennedy in 1960 when the future president delivered his acceptance speech to 80,000 people in the Los Angeles Coliseum.
Once Obama speaks, confetti will rain down on him and fireworks will be fired off from locations around the stadium wall.
Democratic convention organizers said the theme for the evening is "Change We Can Believe In," which has been a consistent message of Obama's presidential campaign.
