Where your tax money goes - to Liberal BS PBS
(August, 2008)
Clean up the 20% garbage at the PBS! Do not mix them with the majority of 'good programming', the "news" and current "editorial" parts are totally unprofessional!
The PBS & NPR problem of having one sided biased agenda whenever reporting or editorializing news and current
events.
PBS says it's "independent", Huh?
PBS has a banner about 'Vote 2008' that describes itself as
"independent".
TIMING:
Can anyone come up with an explanation why the next 2 "documentaries" had
to be aired just so close to the elections?
1) Last weekend [beginning of August 2008], liberal Bill Moyers was busy in
his [Frontline] program on Reed's scandalous past (with Abramov), where at the
end of it he makes sure to finish off with a "warning" line that : Jack Reed is
sponsoring a John Mccain weekend, Is that an important of the 'Frontline'
"objective" documentary? or is it blatant anti-Mccain propaganda?
2) After above Bill Moyers 'Frontline' PBS had another anti Republican
bombshell, a film called "Bush's War", I couldn't see all of it but at least two
comments:A: Each time there's a difference of opinion and two sides of the
coins are being brought up, the narrator "picks" the one he chooses to be the
"decisive" line.B: When he comes to the pivotal points in the Iraq violence
he chooses the words: "resistance", never the suitable 'terrorists' (or
other) term of thugs' crimes against humanity, that are targeting unarmed men,
women & children, this attempt to make these low life criminals look like
some "political" movements, is not only dis-reporting but despicable effort of
butchers'-ass-licking, of the lowest of its kind.
Again, you can't help but wonder why these damning films where
aired so soon to the elections if not the obvious to make people nauseous
of the Republican party.
THE SPIN ABOUT OIL
On Sunday [August 10, 2008] the same Bill Moyers on his 'Frontline' he made
the issue brought up by Newsweek about the 'poverty business', the phenomenon
that people find to make money of off poverty and off the poor.A great
matter and case you might say, yes, until he starts to project his left bias, as
he has his guests over that start complaining about [the Democrats and] Obama's
failure in the economy, Bill Moyers tries to shift the atmosphere to bash Mccain
instead, after making sure the guests are brought to the wind of
anti-Republicans he (feels assured enough so) he then shows a clip (by Foxnews)
of Newt Gingrich that he projects that within announcement of drilling (Drill
here, drill now) the gas prices will automatically fall, as speculators of the
oil stocks would be effected by it.
[Immediately, there's a banner on the bottom with the words
"The oil drilling debate", How did the case against making profiting off of
poverty get altered?]
Bill asks the guest Dean Baker (of "CEPR") if
that's true, Mr. Becker answers that the projective oil we will be able to "get"
is small, whether this is accurate or not is not the issue but, still he hasn't
answered the point raised by Mr. Gingrich which is that psychologically, the gas
price will fall down as soon as news of drilling gets the 'go ahead'.
http://www.pbs.org/moyers/journal/08082008/transcript3.html
Of course one sided Bill Moyers didn't repeat and refocused the question,
he doesn't want to hear the true answer, much less, he doesn't want the American
people to hear the truth, that's PBS - BS for you.
Truth is that gas prices already started to go down because of Mccain
pro-drilling and influencing Obama to agree partially to it.
The truth is that the control of our money to PBS by one small group [when
it comes to "news" and "editorials", too bad they mix it in
with good programming, that makes it all even more venomous] of radical
lefty "intellectuals" has been so unfair and so unjust for far too
long.

I was going through my childhood collection of stuff and I found a terrific comic book that I treasured as a little boy entitled "Mickey Mouse and Goofy explore Energy Conservation". The comic book was targeted at educating kids like me on energy. It was provided free of charge by Exxon in 1978 and distributed to classrooms across America.

MSNBC's Joe Scarborough: "Let me bring in Evan Bayh and give him a chance to talk about this also -- offshore oil drilling. The Obama campaign criticized John McCain for flip-flopping on oil drilling and then a week later, the Obama campaign flip-flopped on oil drilling. Why?"
Senator Evan Bayh: "Well, I don't think he has flip-flopped at all, Joe. You don't have to listen to the politicians about this. You can listen to people like Boone Pickens who has made billions of dollars in the oil industry. He has said very clearly, we can't drill our way out of this problem. You can listen to Charlie's fellow governor, Arnold Schwarzenegger, a pretty straight shooting guy, who says that anybody who says we can drill our way out of this problem is not being straight with the American people."
Scarborough: "What is Barack Obama's position on offshore oil drilling because a lot of people are confused?"
Senator Bayh: "He believes it is not really the short-term or long-term answer to the problem."

Here is video of remarks made by Sen. John McCain yesterday, at the National Label Company just outside Philadelphia. McCain calls for increased offshore drilling, more nuclear power plants, and investment in clean coal technology to help move America away from dependence on Foreign Oil. He hits Obama hard for opposing all three. Part of these remarks have been posted earlier, but this is a more extensive clip of what McCain had to say.

Here is video today of Sen. John McCain challenging Barack Obama to join him in calling for Congress to return to session to deal with the Energy Crisis. McCain calls for the Congress to include increased use of Nuclear Power and the opening of Offshore Drilling as a part of the plan. Barack Obama opposes both Nuclear Power and Offshore Drilling.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi pushed through an adjournment of the House of Representatives for the summer over the objections of Republicans who wanted to stay until an Energy Bill was passed that would allow offshore drilling to help bring down high gas prices.
The scene was chaotic in the House chamber as Democrats hastily pushed through the adjournment, and then ordered C-Span cameras and mics turned off and the lights turned out! However, GOP House members refused to leave and instead set up on the House floor, continuing to speak as if the House was still in session. Rep. Tom Cox of Oklahoma had a great statement regarding the bizarre atmosphere with the lights turned out:
Rep. Tom Cole (Okla.), chairman of the National Republican Congressional Committee, said the dimly lit chamber is a “vision of the future by the Democrat Party: The lights are out, there’s no power, and the air conditioning is gonna go off soon.”
Rep. Mike Pence says Republicans "will be here through the break." So, an amazing scene is developing where Democrats are going home for a month break while many Republicans will remain in Washington D. C. meeting as if they are in session, speaking daily about the Democrats unwillingness to do anything about the soaring gas and energy prices! What a spectacle this could be!
Rep. David Davis of Tennessee said the following after the lights and cameras had been turned off:
“We need an American energy plan and we need it now. The American people are hurting, young families are hurting, senior adults are hurting, small businesses are hurting, Vern from Jefferson County, Tennessee is hurting.
“Vern is an Iraq War veteran. Vern has to drive from Jefferson County all the way into Knoxville. It is costing him over ninety dollars a week to drive to work. He makes eight dollars an hour and is trying to become an electrical apprentice. Vern told me he may have to go on welfare. Vern has a young family and is an Iraq War veteran. Vern wants to do what’s right by his family; he’s already done what’s right by America.
“This Congress needs to do what’s right for Vern and other young families in America, senior adults in America, small businesses in America.
“We don’t need anymore excuses; we need to vote on meaningful energy legislation. We need to do it now. We don’t need to go home, we need to take votes. I am willing to stay here today and vote.
“We voted this week. We had time to vote to go home, and we ought to have time to vote to bring down gas prices at the pump.
“The American people demand it. They demand it now.”
Rep. Pete Hoekstra's "Twitter" page is a place where we may can follow any continuing developments on the GOP "Drill Here, Drill Now" Revolt on the Hill.
Here is some video shot by GOP House members after the lights had been turned out. Two congressman talk about what is happening outside the House chamber in Part I. In Part II, several GOP Congressmen give a News Conference on the situation.
PART I
Blackout: Pelosi turns off the lights as GOP demands action on drilling for oil. John Carter 31st district of Texas and John Culberson of the 7th District of Texas, members of the Republican minority have taken the floor and have continued to debate after the house has adjourned. The Democratic leadership including Pelosi turned off the lights today and cut off cameras and mikes, so they can't vote on energy.
PART II
