The Washington Post is reporting that the McCain camp is ready to release a new ad called "Passed Over" which is in support of Hillary Clinton voters against Barack Obama.

Update: Here is the video

McCain Tries to Rile Up Clinton Voters Against Obama
By Michael D. Shear
SEDONA, Ariz. -- A new television ad by Sen. John McCain aims to tap into anger at Sen. Barack Obama among the legions of Hillary Clinton supporters by suggesting that the Democratic nominee dissed his one-time rival.  read more »

From Gallup.com

The Democrats must be shocked that McCain is tied with Obama this close the Democratic Convention. With Hillary being able to secure a tally of votes at the convention, Obama may wish he had not gone on vacation.

Just in from the Obama and Clinton press offices:

Since June, Senators Obama and Clinton have been working together to ensure a Democratic victory this November. They are both committed to winning back the White House and to to ensuring that the voices of all 35 million people who participated in this historic primary election are respected and heard in Denver. To honor and celebrate these voices and votes, both Senator Obama's and Senator Clinton's names will be placed in nomination.

“I am convinced that honoring Senator Clinton's historic campaign in this way will help us celebrate this defining moment in our history and bring the party together in a strong united fashion,” said Senator Barack Obama.

Senator Obama’s campaign encouraged Senator Clinton's name to be placed in nomination as a show of unity and in recognition of the historic race she ran and the fact that she was the first woman to compete in all of our nation’s primary contests.

“With every voice heard and the Party strongly united, we will elect Senator Obama President of the United States and put our nation on the path to peace and prosperity once again,” said Senator Hillary Clinton.

Senator Obama and Senator Clinton are looking forward to a convention unified behind Barack Obama as the Party’s nominee and to victory this fall for America.

If running for President of the United States is a marathon, Obama is coming up a few miles short. "Obama Fatigue" has entered the mainstream lexicon.

Obama left the starting line in a sprint and the results are starting to take their toll. Obama can't finish the race and McCain has been at the steady pace of cutting in to Obama's lead. It's just a matter of time before Obama trips over his latest gaffe and ends up watching the Strait Talk Express drive buy torwards the finish line.

Note to self: Never wear Flip Flops in a marathon.

Here is some great analysis from Fox News' program "The Beltway Boys" that begins to take a look at "Obama Fatigue".

Since the much vaunted "Unity Rally" when Hillary Clinton "endorsed" Barack Obama, the Clinton's have been noticeably absent from both Obama rallies and the Media.

Bill Clinton, as far as I know, has not attended a single Obama event since the Unity Rally.

The only news I've seen lately about Hillary is that she is asking supporters to donate 5 bucks or more to win a chance to have "Dinner with Hillary"

The Obama's each gave Hillary the maximun $2,300 dollar contribution. Hillary owes more than 15 million dollars.

What ever happened to the "Unity"? Maybe Hillary supporters have told Obama and DNC, "Take a hike, we are voting for McCain."

Update: Remember This part of Hillary's speech when she endorsed Obama:

She urged the cheering crowd to support Illinois Sen. Barack Obama, the presumptive Democratic nominee, in his bid for the White House, saying she and supporters should "take our energy, our passion and our strength and do all we can to help elect Barack Obama ... I ask all of you to join me in working as hard for Barack Obama as you have for me."

Her endorsement was met with a scattering of boos and thumbs downs from the crowd at the National Building Museum in Washington.

It seems she may have lost a little of that passion and enthusiasm.

Here is an update to my post "Carly Fiorina to Meet With Top Hillary Fundraisers"

From The WSJ

...Siskind said the group told Fiorina that if McCain would give some concrete assurances of support on such issues, the people in the room and the organizations they represented could help deliver “hundreds of thousands and maybe millions of votes” to the presumptive Republican nominee...

McCain Surrogate Fiorina Meets With Clinton Supporters
Christopher Cooper and John Emshwiller report on the presidential race.

The McCain campaign dispatched its top female surrogate Tuesday to meet with about 25 disaffected supporters of Sen. Hillary Clinton in Westchester, N.Y.

Carly Fiorina, the former chief executive of Hewlett-Packard Co. and a top adviser to Republican Sen. John McCain, met with the former Clinton backers at a private home for more than an hour and a half. Fiorina said in an interview that over glasses of iced tea and finger food, she fielded questions from Democratic women she described as “intensely uncomfortable with the notion of a President Obama.’’

Both McCain and his Democratic rival, Sen. Barack Obama have both been courting the 17 million or so people who voted for the New York senator during the primary season.

The Westchester meeting came at the behest of former Clinton supporters, some of whom have said – adamantly – that they won’t support Obama. Polls show Obama winning the majority of support from women voters while about a quarter of ex-Clinton supporters are leaning toward McCain. The meeting wasn’t stocked with typical voters, however. These were prominent activists and fund-raisers, including several known as “Hillraisers,’’ who raised more than $100,000 for Clinton during the primary season. “I didn’t ask how many of them were Hillraisers but certainly a number of them were,’’ Fiorina said.  read more »

Hillary Clinton is asking her supporters to hang on to their money. Howard Wofson says it's a strategy to help support her run for Senator in 2012. That seems a little too convenient to me.

Also there is a rumor that Super Delegates are starting to get buyers remorse and would vote for Hillary if given the chance.

Add to that this story from Politico that Hill Democrats are getting "miffed" at Obama and you start to see the picture emerging.

The whole ugly picture could come to fruition if the Democrats are forced to have a floor vote at the convention. This has also been a story which has popped up frequently during the past few weeks.

From The Independent

The disaffection is causing glee in the McCain campaign. Carly Fiorina, his most prominent female backer and former chief executive of the computer giant Hewlett Packard, announced yesterday that she was holding further talks with 20 of Mrs Clinton'sfinancial backers.

Clinton diehards throw support behind McCain

By Leonard Doyle in Washington
Tuesday, 8 July 2008

Many of Hillary Clinton's most prominent supporters, including a number of her famous "Hillraisers," are either defecting to the Republican John McCain or withholding their support from the Democratic nominee Barack Obama.

Chief among them is the founder of the Esprit clothing store chain Susie Tompkins Buell who is bitter at what she claims was the sexist treatment of Mrs Clinton by the media during the campaign. "What really hurt women the most was to look back and see all this gender bias," she declared.  read more »

Happy 4th of July to all Americans. This Country proves that Protest and Democracy works. It's not perfect but its the best in the world.
I spend this 4th of July with my family but I am also protesting. That is what the founding fathers were doing when they decided to sign the Declaration of Independence. They fought for what they wanted which was freedom.
I find myself in the same position. I find myself rebelling against my Party which told me I was no longer needed. They told me I was not the type of person they wanted in their party. They told me I was uneducated or white or a female. They told me I was poor or blue collar. They told me to stay home if I didn't like the fact that the Nominee was going to be selected not elected. They did not listen to our voices of protest and ignored our votes. They backed their man for whatever reason.
I own my vote and from now on both Political Parties and all candidates for whatever office they seek are going to have to work for my vote. They are going to have to be politically courageous and actually stand for something.
I no longer wished to be threatened with Roe vs Wade. I am not a one issue person and am insulted that anyone would assume I am.
I may not agree with Republicans on most issue I will say I have never witnessed the Republicans stealing an election from another Republican. Could this be why the Democrats hardly ever win.
I spend this fourth a little different then I have ever done so before but Protest is the American way.

After today's "Unity Rally" with Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton, some Democrats are making their voices heard on the national scene and saying NO to Barack Obama. I can't recall such an asserted effort to denounce a party's nominee in the past. Perhaps it is just the new age of the internet and cable news that makes it seem more prevalent.
That aside, it does not take away from the fact that there still seems to be a fracture in the Democrat party that,if continued, would certainly shave a few points towards John McCain in November.

Add in Bob Barr's Libertarian run and the race could be even more complex.

At this point in the race these "spinoff" groups may not be a factor but the Democrat convention is two month's away. I have heard several pundits suggest that anything can happen between now and August and I agree.
