Sarah Palin

Here is an outstanding video that weaves video, photos and music together to make the point that both John McCain and Sarah Palin visited our wounded troops in Landstuhl, Germany, while Barack Obama did not. It also effectively makes the point that the McCain-Palin Ticket would be a President and Vice-President we could be proud of to lead America's Armed Forces. They have not only said they support our troops with their words, they have demonstrated that fact by their actions.

It turns out GOP VP Nominee-to-be Sarah Palin has been to the Iraq Theater of Operations. She made a trip to Kuwait to visit Alaskan National Guard Troops serving there in July 2007.

She also has been to Landstuhl, Germany to visit wounded soldiers - unlike the decision of Barack Obama on his overseas trip to skip a visit to wounded soldiers since he could not make a media event out of it. Do I hear a new McCain-Palin ad coming?

Looks like Sarah Palin's Foreign Policy experience is more than a match for Barack Obama.

Here is video of Karl Rove on Fox News earlier today giving his analysis of the selection of Gov. Sarah Palin as John McCain's Vice-Presidential running mate.

I'm watching how the news media is reacting over the Palin pick. All of the sudden the new media talking point is that Palin is so inexperienced! So, for 2 friggin years I have been asking the media to question Obama's experience to be President of the United States and now since Gov. Palin was selected by McCain to be he VP candidate, they are all in agreement that she has no experience.

Let me say right of the bat, I'll take Palin's experience over Obama's any day. She was a City Counsel member, a two term Mayor and Governor of Alaska for 2 years. Whats, Obama's experience? Street Organizer, State Senator, U.S Senator. So, let me make sure I am understanding this, She has been an executive for at least 5 years and Obama, McCain or Biden has never been an executive how is it she is not experienced??

Why is this happening now? I am convinced that we have a sexist media and I see why Hillary lost to Obama and I am saying this as a man. We'll see how far the media goes with this without discovering that she has more experience than Obama and then they will keep quiet about it.

Michael Barone, one of the foremost political authorities in America, has written a column that says John McCain's choice of Sarah Palin is a pick that gives the McCain Campaign the opportunity to highlight some very key issues, including Obama's vote against the "Born Alive Infant Protection Act" in Illinois, and his opposition to 2nd Amendment Rights:

Palin is the mother of five, including one born in April with Down syndrome. Many parents who expect Down syndrome children choose to abort them; Palin, who is staunchly pro-life, did not. This provides a vivid contrast with Barack Obama's 2003 vote against the Born-Alive Protection Act, which his campaign has admitted was "virtually identical" to a bill that passed the U.S. Senate in 2001 by 98 to 0. That may become more of an issue than mainstream media would like, as I argue in my forthcoming Creators Syndicate column.

Palin is a strong advocate of Second Amendment rights (a lifetime NRA member) and of oil drilling in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge (will she change McCain's mind on this?). Cultural conservatives have no basis for objecting to her. Neither, I would think, do economic conservatives. She supported Lt. Gov. Sean Parnell in his primary race against 35-year House incumbent Don Young, father of the "Bridge to Nowhere."

Foreign policy experience? Well, Alaska is the only state with a border with Russia. And it is the only state with territory, in the Aleutian Islands, occupied by the enemy in World War II. On the other hand, my recollection is that Geraldine Ferraro, who had far less experience especially in foreign policy than George H. W. Bush, held her own in the 1984 vice presidential debate.

Here is video of Gov. Sarah Palin in a recent interview with CNBC, where she discusses energy, the need for increased domestic drilling, and how it relates to National Security. Interestingly, Palin mentions Joe Biden in the interview, and how Biden opposed the Alaskan Oil Pipeline 30 years ago. Something tells me she is going to do very well when she debates Joe Biden.

Here is video of Geraldine Ferraro reacting to the selection of Gov. Sarah Palin to be John McCain's running mate. Ferraro believes it could help win over women voters.

Here is full video of the rally held today in Dayton, Ohio, where John McCain unveiled his choice of Sarah Palin as his Vice-Presidential running mate.

John McCain's pick of Sarah Palin to be his Vice-Presidential running mate is generating a firestorm of reaction - some negative but also a lot of positive opinion. I beleive John McCain has made a brilliant pick in Sarah Palin.

Palin has a public record of distinction as a mayor and as Governor of Alaska, and is known as a reformer.

She also has a personal record of distinction in support of life - not just a record of words, but in carrying her downs-syndrome baby to term. She did not only talk the language of a culture of life - she has lived it. That matters, and it means she has great character and integrity.

McCain has not caved to anyone - he has made a bold and decisive choice that will galvanize his party and move millions of women to see they have a voice in this campaign.

It is also bold strategically. By choosing Palin, McCain has given every voter in America another place to land and still cast a "historic" vote that shatters the wrongs of the past. Voting for Barack Obama is now not the only place to go if you want to be on the side of "history." You can now vote for the experience, character, and strength of John McCain at the top of the ticket, and still cast a historic vote by putting the first woman in the Vice-Presidency. My guess is that a great many voters are looking for just an out - and John McCain just gave it to them.

Here is video of Gov. Sarah Palin's remarks today after the announcement that John McCain has chosen her to be his Vice-Presidential running mate. Outstanding speech!!!!!
