McCain Says We Will Withdraw in Victory and in Honor from Iraq
McCain and TalabaniJohn McCain met with President Jalal Talabani of Iraq today but you might never know it from the news coverage. Talabani called McCain an old friend and said that progress is being made in Iraq.
The most significant part of the meeting involved Talabani saying that he thought US bases would be needed in Iraq for some time.
Talabani-
..."We are still in need to have American military presence in Iraq, and it must be decided by both governments of the United States and Iraq how much they will remain there."Talabani added: "In my personal opinion, we are in need to have some, at least some, military bases as a symbol for preventing" other countries from "interfering."
CBS ran this story about the meeting.
Also mentioned in the meeting was the Bush-Malaki Agreement which I posted about on 06/23. This is a critical vote for the Iraqi Government and the future of the US roll in Iraq.
This vote is scheduled for July but seems to be facing some hurdles.

I think we win this war as
I think we win this war as long as McCain becomes President

Win?
Win which war? The Iraqi war, or the War on Terror? And when will we know when we "win"? When Bin Ladin signs an unconditional surrender on a US battleship somewhere? You need to stop watching FOX news and start thinking for yourself.
XXXOOO,
Jackalope
Re Win?
Herodotus:
"Some men give up their designs when they have almost reached the goal; While others, on the contrary, obtain a victory by exerting, at the last moment, more vigorous efforts than ever before."
That was one smart old dude even back then.
I believe he said, Obama would give up and McCain will win.
"The Surge is working and we will win."
BTW The XXXs and OOOs were a bit much. My wife is getting concerned. :)
Welcome back Jack.
Very poetic
That was very poetic. Ok, then lets "exert a more vigorous effort" and have a draft, and send the full force of the US into the middle east, and end this once and for all. Otherwise, to those of us who do not have loved ones in harms way fighting for this country, this operation is like a bad reality show that no one wants to watch.
BTW, I do enjoy the intelligent back and forth with you Nelsa, and yeah the xxxooo was a bit much. :)
