
Obama Denigrates American Greatness in Answering Seven-Year-Old - Video 8/7/08 UPDATED: Rush Limbaugh Responds - Audio
UPDATED 10:22 PM CDT (Hat Tip: Nelsa) - Here is audio of Rush Limbaugh today commenting about what Obama said to the 7-year-old about the decline of America. Rush plays the soundbite of Obama's statement, which you can see on the video below. This is a statement John McCain needs to tether to Obama for the rest of the campaign.
No matter how hard they try to conceal it, the Obamas just can't help themselves when it comes to showing their true feelings about America. Today, Barack Obama answered a seven-year-old who asked why he wanted to be President with this:
“America is …, uh, is no longer, uh … what it could be, what it once was. And I say to myself, I don’t want that future for my children.”
This is the America that has allowed a man with virtually no experience or accomplishments rise to the brink of the Presidency - but America is not what she once was, according to Obama.
Wouldn't it have been nice if he had told the seven-year-old: "America has been so good to me. We live in the greatest nation on earth, and I just want to give back to help this great nation continue to be the beacon of liberty and freedom she has been and must always be."
But that's just not what Obama believes.

Re 7 yr old and Reagan vs Obama
Obama describes America as:
“America is …, uh, is no longer, uh … what it could be, what it once was. And I say to myself, I don’t want that future for my children.”
Reagan described America as:
"I've spoken of the shining city all my political life, but I don't know if I ever quite communicated what I saw when I said it. But in my mind it was a tall proud city built on rocks stronger than oceans, wind-swept, God-blessed, and teeming with people of all kinds living in harmony and peace, a city with free ports that hummed with commerce and creativity, and if there had to be city walls, the walls had doors and the doors were open to anyone with the will and the heart to get here. That's how I saw it and see it still."
The difference is striking to say the least.
Obama's comment to 7-year-old
I think it rather ironic that Obama says our country is not as good "as it once was." Does he mean back in the good old days when a slave was equal to 3/5 of a human being? Or does he mean it's not as good as it was under President Clinton? Boy you wouldn't know it, given how Obama and his campaign savaged the Clinton administration in the primaries.
The only explanation consistent with all we know about this man is that Obama is implementing the principles of marxist community organizing: First you convince people that they are miserable. Then you offer yourself as their only hope of salvation.
