Will Hillary Supporters who Refuse to Support Obama Have an Effect in November?
As we have seen in the last few days, there has been a revolt among some of Hillary Clinton supporters against Barack Obama. They've created web sites and have sworn to raise money to run ads against him.
With the election just about 5 months away, do you think these Hillary supports who refuse to support Obama will have an effect come November?

Democrat Defections
I think most democrats will get behind Obama because this election is really for the war or against the war. Some of Hillary's INSANE supporters such as Lanny Davis and frankly all the women may not vote for Obama. But I believe the women will think about McCain's abortion record and change their minds. Personally, I am as against the Irag invasion as can be but I support McCain as I am a conservative democrat who voted Obama in the primaries. It all depends on McCain's VP. If he goes left=McCain, right=Obama. The crazy racist people of this country may vote for McCain just because of the racial issue which I can't understand as a normal thinking person. But hey what do I know?
Hillary supporters
I don't think you should group Hillary supporters for McCain in an INSANE category. That in itself is a big turnoff. I am new to the site and if that is what ex-Hillary supporters will be known as then I, being one, don't belong here. I'm not insane for the record:-)

That was the comment of one person. It does not represent the views of this site. This site is for people who believe it is vital that John McCain be elected President, and not Barack Obama. We all come to this from different backgrounds and political views. Many here supported other GOP candidates when they were still in the race, even as you support Hillary Clinton. We have in common that we are down to a choice between John McCain and Barack Obama. For the good of the nation - we must elect John McCain.

Really?? Obama support partial birth abortion. How conservative is that?? Killing the baby that survive the abortion. Just let them die. If you voted for BO and are BO supporters you can't know the view of the Democrat Defections people. We call ourselves PUMA (Party-Unity-My-Ass).
Democrat that defected WILL NOT vote for BO in any circumstance. They have come to know the true BO and they don't like what they know.

Obama can't be trusted
If I can't vote for Hillary then McCain gets my vote! Obama has proven time and time again that he can't tell the truth and has a bad habit of flip flopping on issues and statements.
I'm not sure how much truth there is to Larry Sinclair but it will be interesting as to how Obama responds on June 18 2008 to the press conference at the National Press Club.

Will Hillary Supporters ... Have an Effect in November?
In one word, YES. However, there are several variables in play, and most of them will end up supporting Obama, as those of us who are not REALLY McCain fans, will support him. (Raising my hand, by the way, wish us here in SC GOOD LUCK on voting John's butt buddy Lindsey Graham out of the GOP primary come Tuesday)
Anyway, I digress. Blacks are going to come to the polls in November in record numbers. Depending on how large those numbers are, along with how many "young people" get there, Barack may well be our next president. The disaffected Hillary supporters will not outnumber those on the left that go for NADER, or those on the right that go for BARR.
In all honesty, I recommend that everyone here, all conservatives everywhere in fact, spend election day driving those in nursing homes and assisted living centers, back and forth to the polls.

I am asking the Republicans on this site to please beware the Obamabots are horrible people who will call you Racist, I am Black and most of the people online calling someone racist, is White. They will disrepect the women by calling you c**t. The way to beat them is to really hit them. You see Republicans these people who do this are just like Senator Obama an idiot. Now we are all used to them and they will also pose as Republicans or they will pose as Hillary supporters. They are like their Master empty heads who cannot think for themselves. As an African American I am apalled at how racist Obama supporters are. They called George Bush a racist now I do not agree with President Bush but HE IS NO RACIST. I am proud of President Bush for appointing both General Powell and Dr Rice Secretary of State. Obama won't end the war
Obama will not end the war. You cannot trust a single word that comes out of his mouth. This whole primary he has said that he has always been against the war and always for withdrawl. Code Pink and MoveOn have pummeled Clinton for her position and praised Obama.

Now, Obama is saying he wants to withdraw when things are starting to look up there?
Obama's aides told the BBC he wouldn't really be doing his 16 month complete withdrawl plan, that he wouldn't be using a plan he made before the election. Then Obama said in a debate that he would re-invade Iraq if Al Queda re-established itself there. Is there anyone here who thinks Al Queda will not re-establish itself once we leave? Obama is telling everyone that we will not be leaving Iraq.
This guy cannot be trusted on ANYTHING let alone the awesome responsibility for solving the Iraq mess.
I supported Hillary, but if the Democrats are stupid enough to nominate this JOKE, it is McCain all the way.
Obama will not win the war
This Hillary supporter will never vote for Obama because Obama was never my second choice John McCain was always my second choice. Why do I support John McCain over Obama. I am an African American who will never support this man because I have a son who is defending this Country and has been since 9/11 and I am afraid that the dangerous Obama will put him in harms way. Now Senator McCain I have always had a lot of respect for him. He puts his Country over his Party, which earns him huge points in my opinion. I think once the truth about Senator McCain comes out that he is actually more a conservative Democrat more inline with both Bill and Hillary Clinton then Obama the Ultra Liberal is.
I also know that for us who have battled the Obama campaign for the past six month know that he has spent the last six months calling us horrible names like c**t and b**ch and other offensive names while really being rude to our candiate. We have been called Typical white person{nevermind that I am an African American} we have been called Racist for simply disagreeing with Obama. Now I do not AGREE with President Bush but he is not a Racist. This angered me because it was Bush who appointed the highest ranking African Americans when he appointed both Colin Powell and Dr Rice as Secretary of State and I was OFFENDED when Obama called the President Racist. This was the second time he called either a President or former President Racist. So yes I think that Hillary supporters will have an effect. I am now working with Libermans group to get John McCain elected because I BELIEVE THAT OBAMA IS TRULY DANGEROUS FOR THIS COUNTRY.

I never liked BHO from the very beginning, and I will never vote for the current selectee.
For all the BHO bloggers trying to scare us with the Roe v. Wade issue, just forget it. The Supreme Court is already conservative by 5-4. That would be enough to overturn it if they were judicial activists like the Earl Warren court. Except for the Clinton administration, Republicans have been in the White House since 01/1981. It hasn't happened, and it is not going to.

Add to that the fact that there have been several abortion decisions since the original Roe v Wade and the court has further cemented the original decision by building on it, not overturning it. Since the court has spoken on the unconstitutionality of outright prohibition of abortions, what state is going to pass an unconstitutional law and which district court is going to uphold it so the question can come up at the Supreme Court again? Roe v Wade is a done deal, which is the reason the US Congress has folks who drop a proposed Constitutional Amendment into the hopper in every Congress. THAT ain't gonna happen. It would take a super-majority of both houses and then a super-majority of all states to ratify it. Unless you're a believer in partial-birth abortions and leaving a live baby on the table to die, this is a non-issue. And I really believe that most voters are not one-issue thinkers.

Have you ever read "1984"? It's famous for examining the concept of "double-think" where people are capable of holding two diametrically opposite ideas at the same time. That's what the Obama people do on the issue of race. THEY bring it up. THEY use it to demean our country and every single thing this country has done, be it a noble cause or a mistake. THEY impute every statement by every foe to racism. THEY establish the rock sold principle that if you don't agree with Obama, then you're a racist. It not his race
I am a very proud African American female who is a Hillary supporter and I am now supporting McCain as is several other Hillary supporters who are also black. Why is that? Its because we have been called names by OTHER African Americans. We sat and watched in horror while the race card was played inappropriatly. Now I do not know if you are really a McCain supporter you sound like you want to UNIFY. I am voting for McCain because I have a son that is serving overseas and he does not wish to see Senator Obama as President. I am sick of the race card being played by Senator Obama and his people. I've told this story before and I apologize for telling it again, but it's of the utmost importance in a race where the racist is running under the mantle of victim and anyone who opposes him, be it individual or party or group, is a thoughtless, neanderthal left-over of KKK of America.
I left my church when I was 20 years old because it believed in and practiced theological and institutional racism. It wasn't easy because I KNEW the worst thing possible was to become an apostate and that my family would likely disown me and shun me. But I could not in conscience live with myself by taking the easy road. I denounced my church and essentially lost my family and friends and had to find a life without that support system. I do not regret it because I still believe it was the right thing to do.
I raised my children to be color blind and have confronted racist jokes and commentary whereever I've encountered it---and it's not easy to speak up in social or business situations. One of the proudest I've ever been of my child was when she went to kindergarten. She had to ride the bus (even though I was nervous as heck about sending my baby on a bus). She came home that first day to tell me every detail about her day and her teacher. She told me the color of her hair. The color of her eyes. What her sweater and pin and shoes looked like, and, of course, every word that came out of her mouth. I didn't meet her teacher for a week and guess what she didn't tell me? Her teacher was black.
God loves variety and the color of one's skin is about as important as the color of one's shoes. Judging character and ability based on superficial physical things like skin color and on whether one has ovaries or a penis is stupid, ignorant and I thought we'd all gotten over that several decades ago. Barack Obama has run his entire campaign on this issue. The "post-racial" candidate invites the ugly spectrum into the room. Does anyone--and I mean ANYONE--honestly believe we'd be having this discussion if the candidate were Colin Powell or that we'll be having this discussion if Condi Rice is John McCain's running mate?
Race is Obama and his pastor's issue. Obama is the one who converted, as an adult, to a church that teaches separatism (segregation), hate and economic marxism.
So, good for you. Most of America IS past race...it's Obama who is using it and abusing it. He called me and all Republicans racists just two days ago, and he'll get away with it. It makes me crazy and discouraged and very, very angry.
McCain-Clinton Ticket
I have worked hard for Hillary Clinton and am so annoyed with Obama DEM who think that we are just going to go along with Obama. He's a crook, his friends are crooks, he's inexperienced, he'a phoney, he's arrogant, and he does not represent women. I could go on, but the most obviously complaint for women who seek equal treatment is that Obmama did little to reduce the sexism against Hillary, but expected that no racism be applied to him. He's a whimp. A strong man would have spoken up and a strong man would have had enough good sense to stay clear of pay-as-you-go politicians from Chicagoland. Obama's lie is the biggest of all because he hides who he really is and how he got to where he is. He owes so many people payback that he will be paying back for years. I just don't want him in the White House when he does it. So, Howard Dean and others, we aren't coming around. Deal with it. We want to see a McCain-Clinton ticket. Wake up McCain. This will be the real dream ticket if you want to win in the fall.

I completely agree with you. IF it were possible, this would be by far the best for America. THe right might not like it, not the great majority of American voters would be thrilled. And rightly so.
Do you think there is even a 1 percent possibility that Hillary would accept ? Or that she could bring her supporters with her if she did ?
It would mean a revolution in American politics. Would mean the creation of an entirely new political party. Not that I wouldn't mind that happening. INdeed, I'd welcome it.
I do not believe that 1& is high enough
I think if McCain put Hillary on the ticket he would get probley the majority of her supporters if not all. We are loyal to Hillary and Bill. We tend to be the right wing of the Party. If he doesn't put her on the ticket I believe he will win a good bit of them. We are angry and we have a resolve. We have been lied to and cheated. They spent years turning the Republicans into the boogy man they called them racist and told us about Roe vs Wade good Lord. How can I trust what they say? They lied and stole an election even now they want to cancel out 18 million voters. Well I refuse to be loyal to any party from now on and I plan to vote down ticket Republican for years to come.
